Eranda Ginige is the founder of Social Enterprise Lanka – the pioneer in building a thriving social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka by 2025. Eranda holds a Master’s degree in Project Management and Business from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia and a Bachelor’s degree in Genetics, Microbiology and Biochemistry from Bangalore University in India. He is the former Head of Innovation and Partnerships at the British Council in Sri Lanka. He has worked in Sri Lanka and abroad in the private sector and development sector for over 14 years. He has developed a number of innovative programs to develop entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka including IDEATORS – Next Generation Entrepreneurs reality TV show, Youth Enterprise Awards, National Entrepreneurship Week 2009 during his illustrious career at the British Council. Eranda started the recent movement of Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka by organizing FUTURES – Social Innovation Forum held in 2014. He spends most of his time helping social entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka to start and grow their social businesses. Eranda regularly speaks about social enterprise, sustainability and liquid democracy at local and international forums and is a popular writer on the subjects. He is the co-creator and host of the popular television show “ATH PAVURA” which promotes Sri Lankan social entrepreneurs and impact investors.
